The Fashion Edit: 5 Coats To Transition Into Spring

I know that Winter has barely begun and we are just fully embracing the cold weather for the first time in a while. But when it comes to sales, you'll find a great bargain in them that will help the transition into the next season just that little easier.

For me, I can't wait to embrace semi-hotter weather when it finally rolls around. I'm a naturally cold person (that's temperature wise...nothing to do with my attitude!) so I'm obviously all for it.

However, when spring comes around, we aren't quite out of the chilly air yet. So you still need some kind of outerwear.

Therefore this edit is the one for you if you are trying to find a stylish outerwear alternative that isn't your duvet. Because trust me, if it was acceptable, I'd join you wearing a duvet too.

Get your coat love, you've pulled.

Trench Coats

The trench coat is the obvious choice for any budding fashionista during summer. With a simple trench you are nice and covered up, but when thrown over any outfit, it instantly adds a chic level of sophistication.

And keeps you cosy to boot.

Hell For Leather

Everyone needs a good leather jacket. When thrown over a pair of jeans and chic little booties, you gain instant cool points. However this one won't keep your lower half as toasty as your winter coat, but you will be wearing for a decent portion for the year to come as it sees you right through to Autumn.

So invest in a good quality leather that will last a lifetime.

Denim

Denim may not be the obvious choice for Spring attire, but hear me out here. I love a good denim jacket, layered over a grey cashmere hoodie and paired with a pair of ripped jeans and sneakers. It's low-key dressing that has a cool girl attitude.

And can always be an added layer for ultimate toasty mode.

Duster Coats

Duster coats are the easiest layer of them all. They are light enough that they can be layered either under or over various items of clothing.

They are the ultimate in glam and easy dressing and worth trying out.

Puffer Jackets

Still not ready to give up the duvet? Whack on a duvet with sleeves then! Puffer coats used to be my arch nemesis as someone with a pear shape who really avoids excess bulk making the booty look bigger, get me?

But since having a puppy and constantly being out in the cold, I threw caution to the wind and considered a puffer coat. You'll be thankful to know that they have become a lot more stylish than they did in the 90s when they hit their neon peak.

(Thank god for that...)
